Today’s (re)purposed project from my friend’s vintage quilt is a pennant banner.
Banners are festive; they can be used for special occasions or just for everyday.
Who wouldn’t want every day to be a special day?
Every day is a gift to be savored and appreciated.
Everyday should be celebrated.
A banner made from grandmother’s wedding quilt can be an everyday celebration of love, life, and precious memories. It can bring back memories of snuggling with those we love, going on a family picnic, or hanging at a swim meet with childhood friends.
This project is so easy and can be a way of using small salvaged pieces of the past.
I simply made a pattern about the size of some of the usable scraps of the quilt, sewed onto a backing of unbleached muslin, and pinned and topstitched the pennants to a strip of twill tape.
Easy and festive!
Have you celebrated an ordinary day lately?
xoxo, Faith
