Keeping lists is a necessity for me. If I don’t write it down, it’s forgotten. If I write something on a piece of paper, it’s lost. I try to stay organized but taming the tiger around here is difficult.
For the items I keep on written lists [grocery lists and the like go on my iPhone], I must put them in a notebook – its bigger and won’t get lost. Surrounding the notebook with a pretty cover catches my attention. Therefore it is a necessity to have a notebook cover, the prettier it is, the more effective it is. That means I’ll pick it up and use it more.
Using a leftover piece of osnaburg, I top-stitched a strip of patchwork vertically across one end, and added flaps to fit over the edges of a composition book. When sewing the flaps on I stitched on a little tiny piece of elastic to hold my pen – those get lost around here too!
Look here for another notebook cover I made for my friend whose quilt I am (re)purposing.
Another useful and easy (re)purpose project.
Do you still keep traditional lists or record them on an electronic device?
