Thoughts on the Write 31 Day Challenge – (Re)Purposed Sewing

November 2, 2015 By Faith Leave a Comment

I actually did it! In all honesty I didn’t think I would write for the entire 31 days of the challenge. I couldn’t imagine that I would have enough to say and complete enough projects to feature. In my head, I had even planned what to say about not posting all of the days. Thankfully that unwritten post was filed in the trash.

Look what I won in a random drawing of the participants – a wonderful leather journal that will inspire me to continue to write!

Admittedly, I did have a number of the projects finished before I signed up for the challenge, but only enough for just shy of a week’s worth of posts. I kept my nose to the grindstone however and came up with enough content for the entire month. And you know what? I have more thoughts brewing in my head.

After the first half of the month, I sat down for a brainstorming session and came up with additional ideas, some of which I did not have time to get to. So those will happen and I will show them to you.

Write 31 Days – Taking the Challenge

October 1, 2015 By Faith Leave a Comment

Untitled design (1)

I’m a participant! A tradition started several years ago by The Nester challenges writers and bloggers to consistently write for 31 days straight. Crystal Stine has capably inherited the task of adminstrating this challenge. Go visit here to see a list of participants writing on a plethora of topics. You can find Crystal for a sampling of her own wonderful uplifting stylography.

Admittedly, I had to strongly consider this challenge, mostly from a standpoint of time. I work two jobs, three if you count the sewing for hire that I do. At the moment, the pipeline is cleared so I cannot use that as an excuse to pass up this challenging opportunity.

Neither can I justify the fact that I am so new to this blogging thing to pass the chance by.  I have so very much yet to learn and tweak.  What I have in this little space of mine so far is very elementary at least in some folks mind, but not to me.   I would really like to grow this blog and need to put myself out there for the practice and the hope that I might inspire someone.

I have heard about how hard bloggers work so I am just going to jump right in and see if I’ve got what it takes to actually post for as many of those 31 days as possible.  I know its going to be difficult but I’m going to give it my best shot.

Won’t you join me please for the month of October and 31 days of writing? Of course it will be centered around sewing – my favorite thing to do. I’ll add a link for each day at the bottom of this post so you can come back right here to check out the projects I plan to write about.  Check out all the other great bloggers with whom I have the good pleasure of their company. Thanks for coming along and for your support!

xoxo, Faith
